The 50-year-old actress has spoken out emotionally about bullying. Kate Beckinsale has claimed she has been subjected to harsh heckling for years.

The Hollywood star with British roots released a video in which she was captured at different periods of her life. The clip also included the latest footage when she appeared at the King’s Trust-2024 Gala last week. This came after the actress spent several weeks in hospital. As Kate did not publicize her diagnosis, she was accused of having secretly had plastic surgery. The American responded to these reproaches.

“I hate to talk about it because I hate to add anything to this conversation. But I do it because insidious bullying of any kind does damage over time. There could be a 20 year difference between these videos, maybe more. This has been going on since I turned 30 years old. Every time I post anything, I’m accused of having plastic surgery, using Botox with fillers, being obsessed with wanting to look younger….. And it’s really such a tiresome and exquisitely vicious way to bully a person,” Beckinsale reported.

Kate was outraged by the fact that many people are constantly discussing her appearance. The actress was also surprised by the fact that the most sarcastic comments are made by representatives of the fair sex. “I don’t actually do any of that – I even went to the point where I had a plastic surgeon categorically state that I don’t do it. But up until now, every time the same thing comes out: ‘Oh my God, you’re unrecognizable, “Plastics!”, “You don’t even look like yourself anymore”. It happens all the time, and it’s usually women who do it,” the ‘Pearl Harbor’ star noted.

The star mentioned her late father Richard Beckinsale, who died due to heart problems when she was just five years old. She also said that she is going through the loss of her beloved stepfather Roy Battersby, who passed away in January, Mirror reported.

“Life goes on, I got older, everyone gets older. I’m not overly concerned about aging. I spent most of my years absolutely crippled by severe anxiety and panic attacks. I thought I was going to die of a heart attack, too, and went to emergency rooms frequently. I was almost completely immobilized by anxiety during that period of my life. One of the main things I get mocked about is the assumption that I can’t bear the thought of getting older. And that fact is so deeply ironic. My all-consuming horror was that I thought I wouldn’t live to be 20,” the actress added.
